I am amused to see that the Queen's Diamond Jubilee this year is set to outshine the London 2012 Olympics, in terms of popularity and spectacle.
On Sunday, June 3, the Jubilee weekend will climax with a seven-mile
flotilla of 1,000 boats making up the biggest gathering on the Thames in 350
years.
People are far more supportive and enthusiastic about the Jubilee, than they are about the Olympics.
This is hardly surprising given that the Jubilee will cost a lot less than the £12BN being wasted on the Olympics, and will cause far less disruption.

I suspect that despite the daily diet of anti monarchy/pro-republic drivel and propaganda from the state's broadcaster Al Ja-Beeba and the such, most people still like the Queen and wish her well. I wonder if people have the same affection for Lord Coe(sic) and his band of merry PC persons; I don't.
ReplyDelete2012, in my opinion, was about satifying the hungry egos of our politicians.
The poor pick up the tab whilst the great and good will enjoy the jolly and make a fortune from it.
