The World Health Organization said that the 2016 Olympics do not
need to be moved from Rio de Janeiro, or postponed, because there is "a
very low risk" that holding the games there will cause further spread of
the Zika virus.
The WHO's expert panel on Zika
concluded that hosting the Olympics in August (during the Brazilian
winter) means that the mosquito population will be smaller, and intensified
mosquito-control measures to be in place around the competition venues
"should further reduce the risk of transmission."
Let us trust that the WHO is coreect!
